Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a dock associate to move freight across the dock area to and from trailers. You will operate forklifts and pallet jacks, verify freight paperwork for accuracy, and secure cargo inside trailers with straps and other equipment.

Ideal applicants have basic math and strong teamwork, can lift heavy items, and work independently or with a team. The role involves varied hours and a fast-paced environment at our Gaylord location.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Prior warehousing or forklift experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math.

Responsibilities

• Perform freight handling using motorized and manual equipment (forklift, pallet jack, hand truck).
• Verify documentation matches freight description (type, weight, hazardous materials).
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations and company policies.
