FedEx Freight is seeking a Dock Worker in Grand Rapids. Starting Rate of Pay is $21.78 per hour with a 4:30 PM–9:00 PM shift. You will transport freight across the dock, load to trailers, operate forklifts and pallet jacks, verify freight documents, and secure loads for transit.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent (preferred), 18+ years old, and warehouse or forklift experience preferred. Roles involve physical duties in a dock environment and potential hostling tasks.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Prior warehousing or freight handling experience preferred.
• Hostler/yard mule duties experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift/carry hand freight and operate dock equipment as required.
• Ability to bend, twist, squat, push/pull freight during shift.
• Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.
• Previous dock/warehouse experience preferred.

Aufgaben

• Transport freight across dock area to/from trailers for loading to trailers.
• Perform freight handling using motorized and manual equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jack, hand truck).
• Verify documentation matches freight description (type, weight, hazardous materials).
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
