Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a dock/warehouse associate to transport freight across the dock area to and from trailers and help load them. You will use a forklift, pallet jack and hand truck to move goods safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities include verifying freight documents, securing loads, recouping damaged freight, and completing reports. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, with the ability to lift significant weight and work the 5 PM–9 PM shift.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Prior warehousing, freight handling or forklift experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Transport freight across dock area to/from trailers for loading to trailers.
• Operate forklift, pallet jack and hand truck as needed.
• Verify freight documentation matches description (type, weight).
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps or rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation.
• Hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations and company procedures.
