Job summary

Owens Corning is seeking a Warehouse Forklift Operator in Summit, IL. The role focuses on loading and unloading freight while strictly following safety and operating procedures to ensure accurate and efficient handling.

You will work a 3:00 pm–11:00 pm shift, perform cycle counts, and manage daily paperwork for carriers, maintaining security of the outside warehouse and coordinating with drivers and shipping staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completed lift truck training programs and a valid forklift operator license.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload finished products and related materials following proper procedures.
• Know warehouse storage areas and locations of all products, samples, and accessories.
• Operate forklift safely and efficiently per procedures.
• Fill daily forklift checklist.
• Fill LP tanks per safety procedures.
• Maintain housekeeping in shipping and warehouse areas; clean forklifts periodically.
• Perform cycle counts as requested.
• Move product to additional storage space as needed.
• Work independently at outside warehouse as required.
• Assist shipping leader and other plant personnel as needed.
• Ensure security of outside warehouse facilities (unlock/lock gates, lights, etc.).
• Complete carrier paperwork and return to shipping clerk; monitor inventories and turnover.
• Report any accidents or injuries immediately to supervisor.
• Operate equipment only if trained and authorized by supervisor; wear PPE at all times.
