Job summary

USDTL in Des Plaines, IL, seeks a Specimen Processing Technician to join a production-oriented laboratory team. You will follow SOPs, maintain a clean workspace, and accurately prepare aliquots and documentation to support downstream toxicology testing.

Two+ years of lab experience or a science degree are requested; a Specimen Accessioning Technician II with one year of role-specific proficiency is acceptable. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 1:00 pm–9:30 pm, with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Two or more years relevant lab experience or an Associate, Medical Technology, or Bachelor degree in Science.
• Specimen Accessioning Technician II with one year of experience meeting proficiency standards also qualifies.

Responsibilities

• Read and follow SOPs and HIPAA-related standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, safe lab environment.
• Identify and troubleshoot problems and document corrective actions.
• Follow proper protocols and contact staff for problem resolution.
• Complete competency in all aspects of the job module under supervision.
• Record data on worksheets and ensure chain of custody accuracy.
• Prepare samples for downstream testing and maintain sample integrity.
