Job summary

Chimes is seeking a part-time Floor Technician at our Pentagon facility in Washington, DC. You will maintain floor care and custodial duties, following contract specifications, safety procedures, and security requirements.

Schedule is Monday–Friday evenings, 6:00 pm–11:00 pm, with pay rate of $21.16 per hour. Responsibilities include stripping, sealing, waxing, buffing floors, carpet extraction, and general upkeep of assigned areas.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Six months of floor technician or custodial experience preferred.
• Knowledge of floor care equipment and floor maintenance techniques is a plus.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly (75–100 lbs with assistance).
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work independently.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

• Strip, seal, wax, buff, and burnish hard floors.
• Clean carpets using extractors and spot-cleaning equipment.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain assigned areas.
• Operate floor care equipment, including scrubbers, buffers, burnishers, extractors, and ride-on machines.
• Move furniture as needed to complete floor care.
• Perform equipment inspections, cleaning, and basic maintenance.
• Remove trash when required.
• Report maintenance issues, equipment needs, and safety concerns.
• Assist with inventory and general custodial duties as needed.
• Follow all company, safety, and security policies.
