Job summary

Chimes in the Pentagon, Washington DC, is seeking a Floor Technician to maintain floor and facility cleanliness, following contract specs, safety rules, and security requirements. This is a part-time, on-site role with an evening schedule.

You will strip, seal, wax, buff, and burnish floors; clean carpets; operate floor-care equipment; move furniture as needed; report issues; and support custodial duties. High school diploma preferred; 6 months’ floor tech or custodial experience preferred; must

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Six months of floor technician or custodial experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly (75–100 lbs. with assistance).
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work independently.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

• Strip, seal, wax, buff, and burnish hard floors.
• Clean carpets using extractors and spot-cleaning equipment.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain assigned areas.
• Operate floor care equipment, including scrubbers, buffers, burnishers, extractors, and ride-on machines.
• Move furniture as needed to complete floor care.
• Perform equipment inspections, cleaning, and basic maintenance.
• Remove trash when required.
• Report maintenance issues, equipment needs, and safety concerns.
• Assist with inventory and general custodial duties as needed.
• Follow all company, safety, and security policies.
