Job summary

Chimes District of Columbia is seeking a Floor Technician in Washington for cleaning and floor maintenance. The role focuses on stripping, sealing, waxing, buffing, carpet extraction, and general custodial tasks.

Responsibility includes safe chemical handling, equipment operation, and reporting maintenance needs. The position offers a steady schedule and benefits through the AbilityOne program.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Six months of floor technician or custodial experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly (75-100 lbs with assistance).
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work independently.
• Knowledge of floor care equipment and maintenance techniques a plus.

Responsibilities

• Strip, seal, wax, buff, and burnish hard floors.
• Clean carpets using extractors and spot-cleaning equipment.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain assigned areas.
• Operate floor care equipment including scrubbers and buffers.
• Mix and use cleaning chemicals safely and properly.
• Move furniture as needed to complete floor care.
• Inspect equipment and perform basic maintenance.
• Remove trash and report safety concerns.
• Assist with inventory and general custodial duties as needed.
• Follow all company safety and security policies.
