Job summary

Precision Castparts Corp. in Groton, CT, seeks an experienced finishing technician to remove casting defects and smooth welds on metal parts using grit blasting and grinding tools. You will follow shop travelers and process controls to ensure high-quality surface finishes.

The role requires attention to detail, basic shop math, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds while wearing PPE. The position offers a standard shift with overtime opportunities and participation in company incentive

Qualifications

• Requires shop math and ability to interpret decimals, fractions, formulas, specs, charts, tables and measuring instruments.
• Willingness to wear PPE during finishing and grinding.

Responsibilities

• Reads and follows shop traveler instructions and quality procedures.
• Operates grit blast equipment and handheld pneumatic and bench grinding tools.
• Finishes surfaces to remove casting defects as instructed.
• Maintains safe, clean work area and reports any defects or unusual conditions.

6 months of manufacturing experience
