Job summary

The City of Richmond Department of Public Utilities – Field Operations is seeking a Field Operations Coordinator Supervisor to supervise staff in the Field Operations Logistics Center. The selected candidate will be assigned to the 4:00 pm to 12:00 am shift, with duties including scheduling, monitoring workloads, and coordinating with other departments.

Responsibilities also include training staff, handling hiring decisions, generating reports, and developing dispatch policies.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Logistics or Communications, or two years of college with related coursework.
• Four years of experience in a relevant field.
• Equivalent combination of training and experience as approved by the department.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and assign work to crews, including emergencies.
• Monitor workload, overtime, and performance to complete work orders.
• Coordinate with City departments or external agencies as needed.
• Provide accurate information to internal and external customers.
• Train new employees; participate in hiring decisions and evaluations.
• Generate routine reports.
• Develop dispatch policies and procedures.
