Job summary

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in general maintenance, facilities maintenance, building maintenance, property maintenance, or related trade.
• Working knowledge of basic carpentry, plumbing, and general repair techniques.
• Experience unclogging drains, repairing fixtures, and completing routine maintenance tasks.
• Ability to complete preventive maintenance activities and maintain accurate work records.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions with minimal supervision.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, carry, bend, stoop, climb, and stand/walk for extended periods.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and work safely around facility equipment.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel between campus locations if needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform general building maintenance including basic carpentry, plumbing repairs, and unclogging sinks, drains, and toilets.
• Complete preventive maintenance (PM) tasks as scheduled and maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Respond to maintenance requests and emergency repair situations as needed.
• Troubleshoot facility issues and determine appropriate repair solutions.
• Inspect building systems, equipment, and facility components for proper operation.
• Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies, parts, and tools.
• Ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained and accounted for.
• Follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Support the overall appearance, safety, and functionality of campus facilities.
• Work independently during evening hours with limited supervision.
• Provide professional and courteous service when interacting with students, staff, visitors, and coworkers.
• Assist with additional facility maintenance projects as assigned.
