Job summary

The City of Dover Recreation Department seeks a responsible individual to perform routine cleaning and maintenance in assigned city buildings and recreation facilities. Work is weeknights, 7:00 pm to 1:00 am, 30 hours per week, with pay from $17.55 to $25.39 per hour. Position is open until filled.

Duties include cleaning floors, restrooms, offices and public areas, plus minor maintenance and record-keeping. Training provided; opportunity to support city facilities and public spaces.

Qualifications

• Some knowledge of custodial and grounds maintenance methods.
• Ability to follow written and oral instruction.
• Physical stamina to perform required work.
• Ability to maintain forms and records and work with public.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, vacuum, wash and wax floors as needed.
• Empty trash and dispose of it properly.
• Keep restrooms clean and sanitary with supplies stocked.
• Dust and wash desks, tables, countertops, walls, doors, glass.
• Remove debris around building entrances and walkways.
• Monitor equipment and report maintenance needs.
