Job summary

Catholic Charities of Boston is seeking an ESOL Teacher to deliver evening ESOL instruction to adult learners at the South Boston location. You will advise students, develop up-to-date curriculum, and coordinate with the Program Director and Education Center team.

The role requires a bachelor's degree in education or related field (master's preferred) and a minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in adult education. Experience with Zoom is required and ESOL experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or related field, or teaching certification; master's degree preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of teaching experience in a similar adult education environment.
• Strong knowledge of educational theory and best practices; ability to teach via Zoom.

Responsibilities

• Teach ESOL to adult students; levels/industry vary by class and program.
• Conduct initial and ongoing assessment of students, including BEST and TABE Class-E.
• Develop curriculum materials and daily lesson plans meeting best practice standards.
• Provide classroom instruction and educational advising; maintain student attendance and progress.
• Maintain students' records in agency reporting tools; support access to other programs.
