Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Boston is seeking a Part Time Remote ESOL Instructor to provide English language instruction to adult learners through online and in-person formats. Evening hours and some in-person teaching are required, with collaboration across Education & Training staff to support student goals.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree, TESOL/TEFL preference, and comfort with digital tools such as Zoom and Google Classroom, in a diverse adult learner environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required; education background preferred.
• TESOL/TEFL/TESL certificate preferred.
• Eligible to live and work in the US.
• Sensitive to socio-economic and ethnic minority issues.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Suite and Zoom.
• Bilingual a plus.

Responsibilities

• Teach ESOL to adult learners and small business owners in online and in-person settings.
• Prepare and deliver engaging, learner-centered lessons.
• Customize curriculum to meet student English levels.
• Use Google Classroom to organize assignments and track progress.
• Maintain attendance and student portfolios.
• Collaborate with program staff and Career Advisors.
