Job summary

Catholic Charities Boston is seeking an ESOL and Math and Financial Literacy Instructor to deliver English instruction, academic advising, and tailored support. You will develop current curricula and collaborate with the Program Director and Education Center team to meet student needs and goals.

Responsibilities include lesson planning, student advising, attendance tracking, and using technology to enhance learning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education or related field, or teaching certification and commensurate work experience; master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in a similar environment; strong knowledge of educational theory and best practices.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively and compassionately in a culturally competent manner with students from diverse backgrounds, skill levels, and English proficiency.
• Technology skills: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams); Google Classroom and Zoom experience preferred.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Teach ESOL to adult students with varying levels and industry focus.
• Conduct initial and ongoing assessment of students, including BEST and TABE Class-E.
• Participate in staff development and integrate technology and digital literacy into curriculum.
• Provide classroom instruction and educational advising; maintain records in agency tools.
• Develop curriculum materials and daily lesson plans aligning with best practices.
