Albany Med Health System is seeking an Emergency Department Technician for the Evening shift. You will support nurses and physicians in a fast-paced ED, assist with tests and procedures, and help manage acutely ill patients.

Responsibilities include CPR, venipuncture, documenting patient status, transporting patients, monitoring vital signs and ECGs, wound care, catheter insertions, and patient positioning. Strong teamwork and communication are essential.

Competenze

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 6 months to 1 year ED Technician and/or EMS experience preferred.

Mansioni

• Assists with resuscitation / CPR and emergency airway procedures
• Performs venipuncture to obtain blood specimens
• Assists physicians and nurses providing technical support for patient care
• Reports on the condition of the patient to the appropriate supervisor/staff member
• Assists with the transport of patients to other departments
• Assists with obtaining and documentation of vital signs, cardiac monitoring, and non-invasive blood pressure monitoring systems
• Obtains 12-lead EKGs, discontinues peripheral IV and heparin/saline locks
• Assist with wound care, insertion of Foley catheters, and nasogastric tubes
• Assists with positioning patients, application of orthopedic splints and dressings
• Measure and fit crutches and canes and instruct patients on proper use
