Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital in Connecticut is seeking an ER Tech to provide direct patient care in the Emergency Room and to assist medical providers and licensed nurses on a busy unit.

You will help with personal care, nutrition and elimination, perform procedures per the patient plan, and assist with admissions, discharges and transfers while communicating effectively with patients, families and staff. The position is full-time, evening shift, with comprehensive benefits starting Day 1.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma required.
• Experience: EMT-B, Medical Assistant or CNA with acute care experience preferred.
• Certification: BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English, and perform simple math calculations required.
• Ability pass drug screening and background check.

Responsibilities

• Provides for personal care and safety needs of patients
• Provides for nutrition and elimination needs of patients
• Performs specific procedures according to patient plan of care
• Assists with admission, discharge and transfer for patients on and off unit
• Communicates effectively with patients, family member and hospital personnel
• Maintains safe unit environment, supplies and equipment to facilitate patient care
