Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center, a Level I Trauma Center in Connecticut, seeks an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse advancing to Assistant Nurse Manager (Senior Clinical Advisor). You will partner with the Nurse Manager to lead clinical operations and support frontline staff in a fast-paced ED.

Qualifications

• BSN degree required.
• Current Connecticut RN license required.
• Minimum 2 years Emergency Department nursing experience.
• Experience caring for high-acuity emergency patients.
• Strong communication, leadership and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the Nurse Manager in leading daily Emergency Department operations.
• Provide leadership, mentoring, and coaching to charge nurses and clinical staff.
• Coordinate staffing, scheduling, patient throughput, and resource management.
• Promote a culture of quality, safety, accountability, and professional development.
• Participate in hiring, onboarding, performance management, and staff engagement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with hospital, regulatory, and accreditation standards.
• Drive clinical excellence through evidence-based practice and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Serve as the primary nursing leadership presence during weekend evening operations.
