Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Connecticut seeks an experienced Emergency Department RN to step into leadership as Assistant Nurse Manager (Senior Clinical Advisor). You will partner with the Nurse Manager to oversee daily ED operations, mentor staff, and drive excellent patient outcomes in a Level I Trauma Center.

The role is Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM–11:00 PM with weekends as needed, salaried with full benefits, and opportunities for career growth within Trinity Health Collaborative.

Qualifications

• BSN required and CT RN license.
• Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience.
• Experience caring for high-acuity emergency patients.
• Strong communication, leadership, and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Nurse Manager in leading daily Emergency Department operations.
• Provide leadership, mentoring, and coaching to charge nurses and clinical staff.
• Coordinate staffing, scheduling, patient throughput, and resource management.
• Promote quality, safety, accountability, and professional development.
• Participate in hiring, onboarding, performance management, and staff engagement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with hospital, regulatory, and accreditation standards.
• Drive clinical excellence through evidence-based practice and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Serve as the primary nursing leadership presence during weekend evening operations.
