Job summary

Sentara CarePlex Hospital in Hampton, VA is seeking an Environmental Services Technician for the second shift (3:00 PM–11:30 PM) with rotating weekends. The role focuses on cleaning patient rooms, hallways, and common areas to maintain a safe, sanitary environment for patients, families, and staff.

Responsibilities include responding to spills, waste handling, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards. Opportunities exist for cross-training and career growth within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• High School Grad or Equivalent.
• 1 year of previous housekeeping/ESD experience can be considered in lieu of High School education.

Responsibilities

• Clean patient rooms, hallways and common areas.
• Respond to spills and ensure proper waste disposal.
• Maintain a clean, orderly and sanitary environment in assigned areas.
• Follow safety practices and regulatory standards for use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
