Job summary

Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, VA is seeking an Environmental Services Technician I (Housekeeper) to maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment across assigned areas. This full-time role offers Day, Evening, or Night shifts and a schedule that includes every other weekend.

Responsibilities include dusting, mopping, scrubbing, waste handling per regulatory standards, responding to spills, and collaborating with team to meet sanitation goals.

Qualifications

• High School Grad or Equivalent preferred.
• 1 year of housekeeping experience preferred.
• Housekeeping/Environmental Services or cleaning experience preferred.
• Related experience preferred, including customer service.

Responsibilities

• Maintain assigned areas in a clean and sanitary condition.
• Perform dusting, mopping, scrubbing, and polishing.
• Follow protocols for safe handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Ensure proper waste collection, handling, and disposal per standards.
• Respond promptly to spills and urgent cleaning needs.
• Collaborate with teammates to meet daily sanitation goals.
• Adhere to infection prevention guidelines and safety procedures.
