Qualifications

• 2+ years of Environmental Services or hospital operations experience.
• Prior lead, supervisory or progressive leadership experience.
• Strong understanding of infection control principles, cleaning procedures, and hospital safety standards.
• Proven ability to empower and develop team members while fostering a positive environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with diverse audiences.
• Basic computer literacy for communication, reporting, and training.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assign and oversee daily work assignments, adjust schedules, and provide updates on performance and status.
• Oversee standardized cleaning procedures and ensure infection control and safety guidelines.
• Ensure proper handling, containment, and disposal of general and infectious waste following procedures.
• Demonstrate knowledge in chemical handling, including mixing, usage, storage, and labeling.
• Lead by example through training and mentoring Environmental Services staff.
• Support departmental operations via meetings, projects, and emergency response needs.
• Cover assignments as needed, dedicating at least 50% of time to direct coverage.
• Provide relief support at outpatient sites across NYC as required.
• Contribute to Waste Management support at the Koch Center.
