Job summary

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) is seeking an Environmental Services Lead for our Baskin Ridge location to guide a team, uphold cleaning procedures, and ensure infection control and safety standards remain at the highest level.

This part-time role offers 20 hours weekly, 7pm–11pm shifts, with occasional coverage at outpatient sites and support across MSK facilities. Candidates should have 2+ years of healthcare environmental services experience and prior lead responsibilities.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in Environmental Services or Operations, ideally healthcare.
• Prior lead/supervisory or progressive leadership experience.
• Strong infection control knowledge and hospital safety standards.
• Proven ability to empower and develop team members.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable, with sound judgment in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic computer literacy for reporting and training.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assign and oversee daily work assignments; adjust schedules and provide updates on team performance and inventory.
• Oversee cleaning procedures and ensure infection control and safety compliance.
• Ensure proper handling, containment and disposal of general/infectious waste.
• Demonstrate expertise in chemical handling, usage, storage and labeling.
• Lead by example with training and mentoring of Environmental Services staff.
• Support department operations through meetings, projects, and emergencies.
• Cover assignments as needed, with at least 50% of time on coverage tasks.
• Provide occasional relief at outpatient sites across NYC as required.
• Play a key role in Waste Management support at the Koch Center.
