Job summary

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is seeking an Environmental Services Lead for Baskin Ridge, NJ. This part-time role (20 hours/week) requires overseeing daily assignments, maintaining infection control and safety standards, and mentoring staff in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The Lead will manage schedules, waste handling, and chemical usage, while supporting operations and emergency responses. 7pm–11pm shifts, every other weekend and rotating holidays, reporting to Environmental Services

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Environmental Services or Operations experience, ideally in a healthcare or hospital setting.
• Lead, supervisory or progressive leadership experience.
• Strong understanding of infection control principles, cleaning procedures, and hospital safety standards.
• Proven track record empowering and developing team members while fostering a positive, inclusive work environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to adapt to diverse audiences.
• Proven reliability, sound judgment, and accountability in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic computer literacy for communication, reporting, and training.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks such as standing, walking, and bending for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Assign and oversee daily work assignments and adjust schedules.
• Oversee cleaning procedures and ensure infection control compliance.
• Handle, contain, and dispose of general and infectious waste.
• Lead training and mentoring Environmental Services staff.
• Support operations through meetings, projects, and emergencies.
• Provide relief coverage at outpatient sites across NYC as required.
• Support Waste Management at Koch Center.
