Job summary

Advocate Health is hiring for a part-time Environmental Services position in the 11906 AMC Summit area. The role involves cleaning patient care areas, restrooms, offices and other facility spaces, handling waste and linens, and maintaining a clean, safe environment.

Training will be provided; no formal education or prior experience is required. Shifts are 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm, hours scheduled as needed including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to work alone and to understand facility arrangements.
• Ability to set priorities and follow department policies.
• Basic computer skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Cleans patient care areas, surgical areas, restrooms, conference rooms, lobbies, offices, elevators and stairwells.
• Cleans surfaces including ceilings, vents, walls, doors, furniture and beds.
• Dusts and mops floors in patient and exam rooms, corridors and restrooms.
• Replaces cubicle/window coverings.
• Gathers and disposes recyclables, trash and medical waste.
• Collects hazardous trash following infection control guidelines.
• Sorts, stocks and delivers linens and prepares soiled linen for transport.
• Cleans and prepares units and equipment and distributes non-medical supplies.
• Fills and cleans supply dispensers.
• Keeps closets organized; reports unsafe conditions.
