Versant Media in Los Angeles is seeking an Associate Writer/Editor for the E! Online desk to drive daily entertainment coverage in the afternoon/evening. The ideal candidate lives and breathes pop culture, writes fast, accurate copy and can adapt to the E!

voice in a high-paced newsroom. This hybrid role requires collaboration across teams, willingness to chase trends, conduct interviews, and publish under tight deadlines. Salary range is $70,000–$75,000, with typical noon-8 p.m.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years experience in deadline writing sharp copy, ideally in entertainment news, celebrity or pop culture.
• Excellent writing, editing and headline-writing skills with the ability to adapt to the E! voice.
• Strong news judgment and understanding of what resonates with the E! audience.
• Working knowledge of SEO and digital publishing best practices.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Write and publish 5-7 pieces daily, from breaking news to galleries and interviews.
• Write clean, accurate and engaging copy under tight deadlines.
• Monitor breaking entertainment news, social platforms and trends for the E! audience.
• Craft SEO-informed headlines, descriptions and packaging for distribution.
• Identify and pitch stories, viral trends and celebrities to drive views and engagement.
• Seek clever angles, follow-up stories and use analytics to inform coverage.
• Pitch and interview celebrities and publish timely.
• Cover tentpole events in real time (red carpets, awards).
• Collaborate with social and video teams on coverage.
• Ensure reporting is accurate and properly sourced before publication.
• Edit and assign stories and fill in as assignment editor.
