Job summary

Christiana Care Health System seeks an EMT for its Public Safety team to support the Emergency Department and respond to in-house emergencies on an evening shift. The role involves monitoring patients, ensuring safety in the waiting areas, and assisting ED staff during high volumes.

The position requires EMT-B certification (NREMT and Delaware), BLS or instructor credentials, EVO-C, a high school diploma, and at least two years of emergency setting experience.

Qualifications

• Experience working with patients in emergency settings.
• Ability to monitor ED and waiting areas for safety hazards.
• Render care to stabilize patients and assist ED staff.
• Operate during high-volume conditions and helicopter offload/load.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring patients in the Emergency Department for changes requiring triage nurse notification.
• Monitoring waiting area for safety hazards and taking corrective action.
• Assisting patients and visitors with questions and concerns as needed.
• Offload and load patients for helicopter landings.
• Responding to outpatient or visitor emergencies and stabilizing individuals.
• Transporting patients to treatment areas.
• Assisting ED staff during high patient volume.
