Job summary

ChristianaCare's Public Safety team seeks an experienced EMT for evening shifts. The EMT-B will monitor ED patients, oversee waiting areas, assist visitors, and support helicopter patient offload/load and emergency responses.

Requirements include a high school diploma, NR EMT-B and DE EMT-B, EVO-C, and at least 2 years in emergency care, with 911 experience preferred. Shift: 12-hour spans with 3 p.m.–3 a.m. and alternate weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• National Registry EMT-B and Delaware EMT-B certification required.
• BLS certification; instructor preferred.
• EVO-C certification required.
• Minimum 2 years emergency patient care experience.
• 911 experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patients in the Emergency Department for changes warranting triage re-evaluation.
• Monitor waiting area for safety hazards and take corrective action.
• Assist patients and visitors with questions and concerns as needed.
• Offload and load patients for helicopter landings.
• Respond to outpatient or visitor emergencies and render care to stabilize.
• Transport patients to appropriate treatment areas.
• Assist ED staff due to high patient volume.
