Job summary

Upper Valley Career Center in Ohio is seeking part-time evening instructors to teach courses in Basic Industrial Electricity, Machine Controls, Motors and Controllers, Electrical Systems & Components, Electrical Troubleshooting, Hydraulic and Pneumatic Systems and PLC. Each class lasts 4‑5 weeks, two nights a week.

Your role includes directing learning experiences to prepare students for gainful employment.

Qualifications

• 5 years' work experience in the field OR relevant degrees plus 3 years' experience.
• Prior teaching experience preferred.
• Experience with Industrial Electricity and electrical theory and circuitry.
• Valid Ohio State Board of Education Adult Education Permit or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates student learning activities that encourage teamwork, positive peer relationships and reinforce employability skills essential to today's workforce.
• Develops lesson plans that engage adult student learning in both the classroom and laboratory setting.
• Monitors student progress using formal and informal assessment strategies.
• Coordinates with employers to provide real‑world experiences and opportunities for students.
• Assists program coordinator with curriculum development, course scheduling and Program Advisory Committee meetings.
