Job summary

The College of Eastern Idaho seeks an electrical apprentice instructor to teach in its apprenticeship program. Classes are held Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday from 7pm to 10pm (6 hours weekly).

Instructors may take on extra hours for preparation and admin, teaching both theory and practical electrical work, including code and ongoing CEU topics. Responsibilities include developing curriculum, recording grades, and reporting to the program manager and Idaho’s Division of Building Safety.

Qualifications

• State of Idaho Journeyman Electrician License.
• Ability to interact professionally and respectfully with students and CEI staff.
• Dependable and organized.
• Incumbent must reside in Idaho; CEI does not sponsor visas.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction to electrical apprentices both in-person and online.
• Develop curriculum, lesson plans and assessments to supplement those provided by the program manager and fellow instructors.
• Record student grades and attendance for reporting to the program manager and the State of Idaho Division of Building Safety.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
