Job summary

The plumbing apprentice instructor is responsible for providing classroom instruction to students in the College of Eastern Idaho’s apprenticeship program. Classes are held either Mondays and Wednesdays or Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7pm to 10pm (6 hours per week).

Instructors may be assigned additional hours for class preparation and administration as needed. The instructor will teach both the theory and practical applications of plumbing systems, as well as plumbing code.

Qualifications

• State of Idaho Journeyman Plumbing License is required.
• Ability to interact professionally with both students and CEI staff members.
• Incumbent must reside in Idaho; CEI doesn’t sponsor visas.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction to plumbing apprentices both in-person and online
• Develop curriculum, lesson plans and assessments to supplement those provided by the program manager and fellow instructors
• Record student grades and attendance for reporting to both the program manager and State of Idaho Division of Building Safety
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned
