The Emergency Department Technician II at Medical University of South Carolina reports to the Nurse Manager and works under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse to perform multi-skilled tasks that support a patient-centered approach and help achieve desired outcomes.

This PRN, hourly position requires a High School diploma or GED, BLS certification, and at least 1 year of patient care experience; training includes phlebotomy, EKG, and unit-specific competencies within six months of hire.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED required; minimum 1 year patient care experience in healthcare setting or EMT/related role.
• Preferred experience as Patient Care Tech, nursing assistant, or nursing student with one Adult Medical/Surgical course and hands-on clinical experience.
• Within 6 months, pass online modules in phlebotomy, EKG, and unit-specific training with 80% on tests.

Responsabilidades

• Assist Registered Nurse with multi-skilled tasks to support patient care.
• Perform ED Technician II duties under supervision to support decentralized patient-centered care.
• Follow MUHA policies and maintain safety protocols in a high-acuity environment.
