Job summary

Oak Hill in Orange, CT is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for evenings to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential setting. You will help individuals pursue independence, dignity, and community connections.

This full-time role offers 40 hours weekly, Tuesday through Saturday, 3:00 PM–11:00 PM, with a base pay of $20.39 per hour and differential pay for specific schedules. Female applicants only at this time due to program needs.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license for transporting individuals in agency vehicles.
• Ability to successfully complete required background checks, fingerprinting, and pre-employment health screenings.
• Ability to complete required training programs and maintain necessary certifications.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe, healthy, and professional work environment in accordance with Oak Hill policies.
• Commitment to continuity of care, including occasional stay beyond scheduled shift to ensure coverage.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily living activities based on individual care plans.
• Monitor health information and document vitals as required.
• Administer medications and maintain records per training and directives.
• Transport individuals to appointments and community activities using agency vehicles.
• Maintain accurate health and progress notes in the electronic health record (EHR).
• Follow emergency procedures and safety protocols; assist with behavioral needs when needed.
• Collaborate with team, participate in trainings, and communicate with stakeholders.
