Job summary

Town of Plainfield's DPW operates on a 2nd shift schedule, Monday–Friday, 1pm–10pm, in Plainfield, Indiana. The role focuses on roadway upkeep, open space maintenance, and related town services.

The starting pay for non-CDL is $21.75/hour (includes shift differential). CDL is required. Responsibilities include mowing, tree trimming, snow removal, sign repairs, pothole work, litter collection, street inspections, and general equipment maintenance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; one year experience or training.
• Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required.
• Experience in street or construction department desirable.

Responsibilities

• Mows and maintains open space areas along Town roadways.
• Trims trees that may fall into roadways.
• Operates snow control equipment and salt application.
• Operates leaf collection equipment for leaves.
• Repairs and replaces street signs; patching potholes.
• Picks up litter and disposes solid waste.
• Inspects streets and structures and advises corrective action.
• Plants trees, shrubs, flowers; seeds grassy areas.
• Performs general construction and maintenance of Town properties.
• Maintains tools and equipment; assists DPW Manager.
• Assists other departments as needed.
• 2nd shift duties in Utility and Storm Water Divisions as assigned.
