Job summary

Town of Plainfield DPW is seeking a 2nd shift DPW Operator to perform routine road, grounds, and utility maintenance on a 2nd shift from 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Starting pay is $21.75 per hour and includes shift differential. CDL is required.

Primary duties include mowing, tree trimming, snow removal, leaf collection, sign repair, pothole patching, waste collection, and general town property maintenance. Ability to operate various equipment and work beyond regular hours as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• CDL is required.

Responsibilities

• Mows and maintains open space areas in the Town.
• Trims trees that could fall onto Town roadways.
• Operates snow control equipment to remove snow and apply salt.
• Operates leaf collection equipment for leaves.
• Repairs and replaces Town street signs as needed.
• Assists in patching potholes and cracks in Town streets.
• Collects and disposes of solid waste from buildings and grounds; picks up litter.
