Job summary

Rhode Island Hospital is seeking a Distribution Technician to support Brown University Health Supply Chain Operations. Under supervision, you will provide high‑level customer service and ensure a reliable flow of equipment and supplies across Brown University Health facilities.

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to exercise considerable independent judgment in daily duties.
• Strong interpersonal skills to interact with colleagues and departments.
• Experience with distribution equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintains quality assurance and practice standards per system policies, procedures, and objectives.
• Recognizes or anticipates problems and refers them for resolution as needed.
• Follows processes to ensure uninterrupted supply of equipment and supplies.
• Performs counting, organizing, ordering, delivery, picking, packaging, put away, inspection, and receiving duties.
• Maintains stock in clean, orderly storage areas with correct labels.
• Orders according to par levels, reorder points, and unit of measure.
• Implements inventory rotation and recalls/substitutions processes.
• Receives material by verifying packing slips and purchase orders.
• Puts away materials in correct locations and delivers orders within Brown University Health locations.
• Unloads supplies from dock and delivers to Health locations; may operate pallet jacks.
• Replenishes patient care supply carts and maintains stock in patient areas.
• Interacts with suppliers to confirm deliveries or initiate returns.
• May train new staff and perform other related duties as required.
