Job summary

Lowe's Guardian Angel in Georgia is seeking a Direct Support Professional to support individuals with intellectual disabilities and mental health needs. The role runs Monday–Friday, 3PM–11PM, requiring CNA and CPR/First Aid certifications and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

You will assist with activities of daily living, health monitoring, meal preparation, transportation to services, and documentation per ISP/POC, while promoting independence and safety.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
• 2+ years experience with individuals who have dual diagnosis (Mental Illness and Developmental Disability).
• CNA license required to perform personal care tasks.
• Current CPR/First Aid/AED certifications.
• Must pass criminal background checks and provide TB screening.
• CPI certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Provide support with medication administration and health monitoring.
• Assist in nutrition, meal preparation, and feeding when necessary.
• Help individuals develop daily living skills and promote independence according to ISP/POC.
• Provide positive behavioral support and communication assistance.
• Participate in activities within the home and community as outlined in individual care plans.
• Transport individuals to and from community services and activities.
• Complete required training within the first 60 days and annual training thereafter.
