Job summary

The Chimes, Inc. is seeking a Direct Support Professional for Monday–Friday 5:00 PM–10:30 PM (Personal Support). Compensation is $19.75 hourly.

The role supports individuals with intellectual and behavioral challenges in home and community settings, contributing to their growth and daily living skills. Join a not-for-profit organization providing educational, employment, residential, and behavioral health services through a broad network of affiliates.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must have a driver's license and an acceptable driving record as determined by criteria established by the Agency's insurance carrier and by Agency policy.
• Must be able to lift, pull, and push adequate weight to assist individuals supported (may be more than 50 pounds).

Responsibilities

• Work in the residence of a person served as a personal support and to be engaged with him/her, ensuring programs and activities are carried out for the person’s benefit.
• Provide supervision and training to adults with developmental disabilities to promote growth toward highest potential.
• Help personalize and tailor the home to each person’s preferences and personality.
• Instruct people served to do as much as possible for themselves per program plans and avoid personal business during work time.
• Communicate with day program staff regarding the individual program when requested.
• Monitor and assist in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the home.
• Assist with transportation to appointments, activities, and community outings.
