Job summary

Winfield-Rest-Haven is seeking a kitchen helper to support meal preparation and service for residents. The role involves washing and sanitizing dishes, assisting in food service, and maintaining clean dining areas in a resident-centered environment.

Responsibilities include following safety and sanitation protocols, helping with meal-related duties, and performing other tasks as needed by the supervisor to ensure smooth operations and resident satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and speaking the primary language of the elders.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and follow instructions.
• Ability to provide service to elders in a friendly manner.

Responsibilities

• Washes dishes, tableware, glasses and other kitchen and dining room equipment used in preparing a meal and assures they are stored in an orderly fashion.
• Prepares and serves coffee, tea, juice, etc.
• Cleans work areas, dining room floor, dining room tables, and dining room chairs after each meal and occasionally after special events.
• Removes garbage from dining room and kitchen and cleans trash containers.
• Performs duties in a swift and orderly fashion to accomplish tasks in allotted time while meeting service expectations for residents.
• Assures work is performed in accordance with all federal, state, and facility regulations regarding sanitation and infection control.
• Attends all in-services as required.
• Performs all other reasonable tasks assigned by supervisor.
