Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable, hard-working, and compassionate Dining Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming kitchen environment that supports exceptional dining experiences for our residents. This position plays a vital behind-the-scenes role in ensuring that every meal is served with care, dignity, and respect for those we serve.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dishwashing area and kitchen.
  • Follow all food safety and sanitization guidelines to protect the health and wellness of our residents.
  • Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment in a timely manner.
  • Restock clean items in their proper locations for use during meal service.
  • Assist in the proper disposal of waste and recycling materials.
  • Collaborate with dining team members to ensure an efficient meal service.
  • Support the dining team with cleaning the dining area and other tasks as needed.
  • Respond to resident requests and concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Assist with special events, holiday meals, and family gatherings as needed.
  • Promptly report any maintenance or equipment issues to the appropriate staff.
Requirements
Education

High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Skills and Qualifications
  • Prior experience in dishwashing or food service preferred. Experience in senior living, healthcare, or a similar setting is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
  • Compassionate, patient, and respectful attitude towards residents and coworkers.
  • Dependable and self-motivated.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks in a warm, humid kitchen environment.
  • Ability to walk and stand for long periods.
  • Ability to safety lift and carry up to 50 lbs., including hot and heavy dishware.
  • Ability to navigate kitchen areas safely, which can include frequent walking, bending, reaching, squatting, twisting, pushing, and pulling.
