POSITION: Dietary Coordinator

SHIFT: Part-Time 3pm - 8pm
Responsibilities
- Follow schedule and reassign employees as necessary.
- Receives and follows oral or written work assignments from Supervisor on a daily and monthly schedule.
- Ensures that dietary staff are cleaning kitchen(s), dining rooms, and food storage areas on a daily, weekly, and monthly scheduled as outlined in policies and procedures.
- Ensures dietary aides/RSA’s complete meal prep as directed with proper techniques and proper temperature of food and accurate serving of modified diets. Ensures all aides/RSA’s complete their assigned tasks prior to the end of their shift.
- Conducts meetings with dietary aides/RSA’s as needed.
- Notifies the Director of Food Services or designee of any broken, malfunctioning equipment.
- Performs test trays as required.
- Completes house stock supply order list weekly in accordance with PAR levels. Ensures each long term care house has adequate inventory to prepare meals.
- Assists in preparing and serving meals to residents as needed.
- Assures proper storage of all food with proper labeling and dating in all kitchen areas.
- Responsible for proper sanitation of all kitchens and dining rooms as well as kitchen equipment and storage rooms assuring a high level of cleanliness.
- Assists in assigning daily duties.
- Assures all equipment, thermometer calibration and food temperatures are documented based on facility policy.
- Responsible for the dating and labeling of supplements as well as the delivery to each individual house.
- Performs duties according to the highest ethical and moral standards and in adherence with the facility’s corporate compliance plan and all applicable governing laws. Adheres to the facility’s confidentiality statement in accessing and safeguarding protected health information (PHI) of residents and employees, as necessary to perform job duties.
- Performs any other duties assigned by the Director of Dining Services.
Qualifications
- High school graduate.
- Ability to read and write differentiating names, diet consistencies, and other relevant words and phrases related to household tasks. Ability to successfully complete an English Comprehension Screening.
- Ability to follow oral and written directions.
- Ability to communicate with nursing leadership.
- Ability to supervise dietary aides/RSA’s.
- Ability to use equipment as required for the job.
