Century HCC's Dietary Aide position is a part-time evening shift. The role provides assistance in all nutrition service functions under the Director of Food Service, ensuring nourishing, attractive, well-balanced meals and a pleasant dining experience.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, basic food service knowledge, ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and good English communication. Prior long-term care or institutional food service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all food procedures.
  • Prepare food using proper handling and safety techniques.
  • Maintain proper temperatures during preparation and service.
  • Assist in daily or scheduled cleaning in the food service department.
  • Assist in serving meals, beverages, and special items promptly.
  • Maintain clean and orderly food storage areas.
  • Label, date and store food properly.
  • Maintain a clean sanitary work area.
  • Maintain clean kitchen equipment.
  • Prepare dining room for service.
  • Perform dishwashing service and cleaning procedures.
  • Prepare and deliver snacks as directed.
  • Ensure safety and health regulations are followed.
  • Report any hazards or issues to supervisor.
  • Maintain confidentiality of residents’ information.
  • Transport food carts safely.
  • Wear proper work attire with hair nets and badges.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Provides assistance in all nutrition service functions as directed by the Director of Food Service in accordance with the center’s standards and procedures, federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations. Assists with providing nourishing, attractive, well-balanced meals and a pleasant dining experience. Must follow company policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
  • 1. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Requires demonstrated knowledge and ability in food service preparation and clean up. Verbal and written English communication skills. Position requires prolonged standing, frequent bending, walking, stooping, lifting, stretching, moving heavy items, and lifting/ carrying up to 50 pounds.
  • 2. Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3. Experience: Previous long term care experience or institutional food service preferred.

  • 14. Report any complaints to supervisor.
  • 15. Report all hazardous conditions or equipment to supervisor
  • 16. Report any abuse immediately to supervisor.
  • 17. Assist in food preparation for special meals or events.
  • 18. Maintain Confidentiality of all resident’s information to assure residents rights are protected
  • 19. Report all work related injuries to supervisor.
  • 19.Transport all food carts in a safe and proper manner.
  • 20. Wear proper work attire including hair nets and badges.
  • 21. Practice safe work habits.
  • 24. Performs all other duties as assigned.
