Job summary

Betsy Ross Nursing Home & Rehab Center in Rome, NY, is hiring a part-time Dietary Aide/Food Service Worker to provide meals and snacks to residents in a sanitary, safe manner, following all policies. The role emphasizes customer service and diet-compliant meal service in a renovated, homelike facility under new management.

Role includes food prep, serving, clean-up, and stock management with shifts from 4pm to 8pm, up to 20 hours per week, and weekends as required.

Qualifications

• Some high school education required.
• Experience in a healthcare kitchen preferred but not required.
• Excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide residents with meals and snacks in a sanitary, safe manner.
• Assemble trays according to prescribed diets and serve resident tray line and dining room.
• Take inventory and deliver nourishments to nursing unit pantries as scheduled.
• Deliver and retrieve food carts to all nursing units during meals.

Betsy Ross Nursing & Rehab Center is a 120-bed facility offering excellence in rehabilitation and skilled nursing care in a lovely homelike environment undergoing that recently underwent a large scale RENOVATION and is UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT AND ADMINISTRATION! Role

The role of the Dietary Aide/Food Service Worker is to provide our residents with all of their meals and/or snacks in a sanitary and safe manner adhering to all policies and procedures of the facility while focusing on customer service and satisfaction. The role of the Dietary Aide (Food Service) is:

• Dietary Aide/Food Service Worker must be reliable and dedicated to providing excellent meal service to our residents


• Dietary Aide/Food Service Worker responsibilities include but are not limited to: Prepare food, serve residents, clean up after meals, and washing dishes


• Proper \"in kitchen\" preparation and cleaning in regards to the station assigned


• Prepare cold and hot food and beverage items in accordance to diets and recipes


• Dietary Aide/Food Service Worker will assemble trays according to prescribed diets and serve resident tray line and main dining room


• Take inventory and deliver prepared nourishments to nursing unit pantries at designated times for residents’ use


• Handling of food in a safe manner


• Deliver and retrieve food carts to all nursing units during meal service

Requirements

• Some high school education


• Experience working in a kitchen in a healthcare setting preferred, but not required


• Excellent customer service skills


• Work well under pressure & willing to work harmoniously with all staff


• Must have a working knowledge of food service techniques and sanitation


• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions required
