Job summary

St. Paul’s Assisted Living in South Bend, Indiana, is seeking a dedicated Dietary Aide to assist in meal preparation and serving. You will ensure dietary needs and resident preferences are met with high-quality care, promoting residents' health through proper nutrition.

The role supports an evening shift from 11:00am to 7:00pm on a full-time basis, with opportunities for in-service training and staff collaboration within Trinity Health Senior Communities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in food service, preferably in healthcare or assisted living, is an asset.
• Knowledge of basic food preparation, sanitation, and dietary guidelines.
• Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with residents and staff.
• Compassionate, patient, and attentive to the needs of the elderly.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of meals according to dietary plans and resident preferences.
• Serve meals to residents in a courteous and efficient manner.
• Ensure proper portion control and adherence to special dietary requirements.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen and dining areas.
• Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
• Assist with stocking and inventory of food supplies.
• Communicate any dietary concerns or changes to the dietary manager.
• Follow all safety and food handling regulations.
• Participate in in-service training and staff meetings as required.
