Job summary

BCMC is supporting a U.S. Government customer to provide on-site incident response for civilian agencies and critical asset owners facing cyber-attacks. The Cyber Shift Incident Manager will coordinate investigations, develop mitigation plans, and assist with service restoration on a 2nd shift, on-site basis in Arlington, VA.

Responsibilities include incident data correlation, defense-in-depth guidance, triage, and cross-functional coordination to resolve incidents. Requires TS/SCI, U.S.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship and active TS/SCI clearance required.
• 2+ years of direct experience in cyber incident management or cybersecurity operations.
• Familiarity with incident response and handling methodologies.
• Knowledge of NIST 800-62 (latest revision) and FISMA as they pertain to incident reporting.
• Knowledge of the NCCIC National Cyber Incident Scoring System to prioritize triaging of incidents.
• Understanding of general attack stages and vulnerabilities.
• Knowledge of basic system administration and OS hardening techniques.
• Experience with different operational threat environments (script kiddies to nation-state).

Responsibilities

• Correlate incident data to identify trends and patterns.
• Recommend defense-in-depth principles and practices.
• Perform CND incident triage: scope, urgency, impact.
• Research resolution steps or workarounds for mitigation.
• Apply cybersecurity concepts to detecting intrusions and conduct log analysis.
• Monitor external data sources to stay current on CND threats.
• Identify incident causes and gather background information.
• Analyze network alerts and determine root causes.
• Track CND incidents from detection to resolution across the organization.
• Provide on-site support during assigned shift (Shift 2, M-F 1400-2200).
