Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Department of Transportation seeks a Custodial Worker 1 for Clinton County Maintenance and Roadside Rest Facilities. The role maintains clean, safe facilities and grounds, performing custodial tasks, groundskeeping, and basic upkeep to support a welcoming environment for employees and travelers.

Work shifts 3:00 PM–11:00 PM, Monday to Friday with a 30-minute lunch. This is a permanent, full-time position with starting salary of $36,010 per year and no telework

Qualifications

• You must be able to perform essential job functions.
• Veterans: Pennsylvania law provides employment preference for qualified veterans.
• Telecommunications Relay Service (TRS): 711 for disability-related accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Facility Cleaning: Clean offices, hallways, lobbies, restrooms and fixtures to maintain a sanitary environment.
• Floor Care: Sweep, mop, buff, strip and wax floors with custodial equipment.
• Waste Disposal: Empty waste, remove garbage and sort recyclables.
• Supply Restocking: Replace restroom supplies, dust and clean surfaces, windows and mirrors.
• Grounds Maintenance: Cut grass, trim hedges, remove leaves and snow; keep entrances neat.
• Safety Support: Report hazards, follow safety procedures and assist with minor repairs.
