Job summary

CBRE Government and Defense in Cheshire, CT is seeking a custodian to perform basic cleaning duties in assigned areas, including mopping, sweeping and trash disposal. The role requires attention to safety and the ability to work with cleaning chemicals and power equipment.

Shifts are 3:00pm–11:30pm. The position offers benefits and a starting pay rate of $17.15 per hour, with opportunities to participate in medical, well-being, and other employee programs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years of job-related cleaning experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily cleaning support to high-traffic areas as directed by supervisor.
• Stock bathrooms with toilet paper, towels and soap.
• Sweep, vacuum, wipe, and mop storage units, hallways, restrooms, elevators.
• Dust furniture, walls, and equipment; move furniture as needed.
• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using appropriate cleaners.
• Ensure cleaning supplies are stored safely.
• Follow standardized cleaning procedures and safety guidelines.
• Attend staff meetings and required trainings.
• Follow basic work routines and use established procedures to solve straightforward problems.
