Job summary

CBRE Government and Defense is seeking a part-time custodian to maintain clean and safe facilities in accordance with established procedures and company standards. The role involves custodial and grounds maintenance tasks with a scheduled shift from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm and on-site work at the location.

Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent with 2 years of related experience, physical ability to perform demanding tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs, and good communication.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to communicate and follow basic work routines.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to complete tasks within designated timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily cleaning support to high‑traffic areas of the building designated by the supervisor.
• Stock bathrooms with toilet paper, paper towels, Kleenex, and soap.
• Sweep, vacuum, wipe, and mop storage units, hallways, restrooms, elevators, etc.
• Dust furniture, walls, and equipment, including moving and rearranging items as needed.
• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
• Follow basic work routines and standards in the application of work.
• Cuts grass, using walking‑type or riding mowers.
• Trims hedges and edges around walks, flower beds, and wells, using hedge trimmers, clippers and edging tools.
• Prunes shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth, using shears and other hand tools.
• Sprays lawn, shrubs and trees with fertilizer or insecticide.
• Plants grass, flowers, trees and shrubs.
• Waters lawn and shrubs during dry periods, using hose or activating sprinkler system.
• Pick up and dispose of leaves, paper or other litter.
• May clean comfort stations, office and workshop areas, and parking lots by sweeping, washing, mopping and polishing.
