Qualifications

• No specific education requirement; 3–6 months training or experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license may be required; safety and task training certification may be required; forklift certification may be required.
• Bilingual a plus; strong reading and interpretation of instructions; good communication skills; knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial duties.
• Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule.
• Hazardous Waste responsibilities including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping and receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, packaging of special and hazardous waste.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment.
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area.
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
• Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures.
• Stop at risk behavior of others and self.
• Teamwork with others to complete tasks.
• Maintain clean work area.
• Follow all protocols, procedures, policies, and rules.
• Take direction and respond to supervision.
• Communicate professionally with lead, supervisor, coworkers, managers and customers.
• Fill in during staff shortage.
• Support shift lead in completing punch-list items.
• Use proper PPE.
• Present a professional appearance and conduct.
• Understand customer service and satisfaction.
• Understand reporting systems and the environment.
