Job summary

Blackstone Valley Vocational Regional School District in Upton, MA is seeking a Custodian for the 2nd shift (2:00 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.).

You will perform routine cleaning, operate custodial equipment, and assist with seasonal maintenance to keep the school safe and welcoming for students and staff. The role requires the ability to work independently and with a team, follow safety procedures, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• Experience in custodial services or related field preferred.
• Knowledge of routine custodial practices and safety protocols.
• Ability to lift 20–50 pounds and operate cleaning equipment.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Perform custodial and maintenance duties to keep a clean, safe environment for students and staff.
• Operate floor scrubbers, buffers, vacuums, and other cleaning equipment.
• Identify and report safety hazards and maintenance concerns.
• Assist with seasonal maintenance and snow/ice removal.
• Support shift flexibility and coverage as needed.
